Brooklyn Public House

I recently had a chance to briefly stop into Brooklyn Public House, the new pub on Dekalb, and walked away with a pretty good impression. Lots of great beers on tap, and even more in bottles. The atmosphere is classy and relaxed, and the staff was pretty friendly (though they didn't take kindly to having pictures taken).

The food menu was a bit uninspiring, so I didn't stay to eat. With Ici right across the street among other nearby eateries, your food dollar may be better spent elsewhere. Now, that's just my impression from looking through the menu, I haven't actually tried anything yet. Anyone else give it a shot? What did you think? Public House does seem to be a great place to stop in for a beer, at a minimum.

Just tried it for the first time last weekend and loved it. friendly staff and tasty beer and a delicious bacon wrapped hot dog for a mere 6.50.

Had the burger and fries there a few weeks ago and they were really good. Our neighborhood really needed a place like this -- simple, good food and lots of good beer. It's a relaxed atmosphere. Perfect, casual place to hang out.

I was recently talking with a friend who moved from Williamsburg to Clinton Hill. He and I both like a range of restaurants but get excited about restaurants that push limits and try new things. He has noticed that, in his words, Williamsburg crushes Clinton Hill and Ft. Greene in this department. With so many people in our hood that love food and restaurants, why don't we have more adventurous chefs opening restaurants here?

You might want to try the food. It is actually very good and much more affordable than most of the neighborhood.

Just ate here tonight, first night living in the area, and it was so good, and very reasonable.

My girlfriend and I split the BBQ brisket and the beer battered sausage. While the brisket was real good, the sausage was SO GOOD.

Thanks for this blog, in love with this neighborhood.
