Greene Grape Provisions Feedback

Seems like everyone wants an opinion on local grocers lately. Greene Grape Provisions, the recently opened new market next door to the already opened wine store, is looking for some feedback on how they've done so far.

Greene Grape Provisions, a new food store featuring fresh fish, meat, bread, cheese, produce, prepared foods, a tossed salad bar and beer, is seeking comments on how we're doing so far and helpful suggestions on how we can improve. Please help us out by taking the time to fill out the survey at http://www.greenegrape.com/.

Your input will help us improve our service and offerings to you. Oh, and you get a free coffee for filling out the survey if you fill it out by Sunday, March 16.

If you've had a chance to stop in, lend your voice! Picture lifted from CHB's writeup.

PROVISION WAS LIKE RAIN IN THE DESERT.
BUT IT COULD BECOME BETTER BY EDUCATING THEIR STAFFS BETTER ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE SELLING.
SOMETIMES WE HAVE RIDICULOUS SERVICE BACK SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY DONT KNOW THE PRODUCT ESPECIALLY WHEN IT GETS TO DELI SECTION.
OWNER MUST REMEMBER THAT THERE ARE SO MANY EUROPEANS AROUND THIS NEIGHBOR HOOD WHERE THEY GREW UP ON SUCH PRODUCTS AND COME ON NOW EVERYONE GOES TO WHOLE FOOD AND USE FRESH DIRECT.

ONE MORE THING, FISH SECTION IS VERY MINIMUM I'LL SAY. WE STILL HAVE TO GET A CAR SERVICE TO FAIR WAY IN RED HOOK OR GO TO CITTARELLA WHEN WE GET TO THAT POINT OF GETTING REAL GOOD PRODUCTS.
I FIND PROVISION IS LIKE CORNER UPSCALED DELI. NOT REAL GROCERY PLCAE.

THER'S THAT FINE LINE PROVISION NEEDS TO CROSS OVER TO BECOME TRUE NEIGHBORHOOD GROCERY SHOP.

LAST TIME WHEN I WAS THERE ONE GIRL BEHIND THE COLD CUT COUNTER THOUGHT MORTADELLA HAS 2 KINDS, ONE WITH MEAT, ONE WITH NUT.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
ENTIRE MORTADELLA IS FREAKING MEET...!!!YES THERE IS KIND WITH PISTACHIO, BUT HER QUESTION IS LIKE, WHAT KIND WHAT KIND OF POTATO CHIPS YOU WANT , ONE WITH POTATO OR ONE WITH SPICE..!
STUPID.

I sell cheese at Provisions. I apologize if you were disappointed with your visit and I agree that an educated staff is as important as the product, especially when the product is purveyor-proclaimed specialty food. We work on this aspect of the business every day. I assure you there are people who are quite knowledgeable of their respective counters.

If something like this ever happens to you again, ask for a second opinion from someone else behind the counter. We have a core staff of enjoyable and knowledgeable people. Our weekday fish monger launches his commercial fishing boat during the weekends off of Sheepshead Bay, but that's not even the half of it. As someone who has grown up behind my parents' cheese counter I am proud to work with the people I do. Our butcher is brilliant. We're ironing out the kinks at our new store and I hope you try us out again. Ask for Glenn if you need cheese (that's me).
