Since I was a small child, I've loved pizza. I love thin crust, Sicilian, thick crust, with toppings, without... the list goes on. I've tried making it at home- my best luck is still with a Boboli and some spiced up spaghetti sauce out of a jar (Brian is cringing to hear I use sauce from a... gulp....store). I've tried it from scratch- OK, the pizza dough is frozen but I still have to pretend to throw it up in the air and try to not hit the cats with my tossing about the apartment. that batch came out OK. It looked a little like something out of an Alien movie, but it was edible and didn't cause any major diseases. I've tried frozen pizzas- my personal favorite is DiGiorno (it's not delivery... it's DiGiorno). I've had some really good frozen pizza and some really bad frozen pizza. But all in all, it's not delivery.
I have also tried pizza all over the world. Not many people can say that they went to Fiji, had a pizza and managed to get a bacterial infection from it that lasted for a month. That ended with the lovely loss of 15 lbs.- yea dieting in the most unhealthy way possible! I've tried pizza in London, I've tried pizza in Athens, I even tried pizza on a boat off the coast of Mikanos. I've tried pizza in my home town of Hamilton, NY. Pub food rules- much better than slices (only the locals will get that one). I've tried pizza in South Carolina, Florida, Canada, Los Angeles, etc. But at the end of the day, I'm still looking for the best pizza in New York City (including the outer boroughs).
I am new to Clinton Hill as of about 6 months ago, so now my search can begin anew. I have tried a few spots in the area, so look for more details about these places coming up in the future.
Wish me luck!

There are plenty of good sauces in a jar - I just prefer making my own!
I think our current favorite pizza is Luigi's on Myrtle. We both liked Focaccino as well, but I've heard some mixed reviews of the place.
Oh, and my current favorite NYC pizza joing is still the place we always ordered from in Forest Hills - Al Dente on Queens Blvd.
What does this say about my home cooking? Her favorite food is Pizza.
I'm amazed that I've known Mickey for how many years, and I had no idea that pizza is her favorite food! I don't think I've ever seen her eat pizza!
Although this is under my wifes account, I felt I should comment. I think if you really like pizza you should go to Popeye's Chicken. Their chicken really tastes like the best pizza I've ever had.

that might have been the dumbest joke mitchell has ever made...that's what happens when i turn my head... :)
anyway, in all seriousness, we like your new site alot - very nice design, great pictures and a cool community. I wish our town had one like it!
Graziela's on Vandy between Dekalb and Willoughby. Hands. Down.
I've been there before and really liked it, though I don't think Mickey's been yet. I always forget about it being there since we're always walking either down Dekalb or Myrtle.
Do you know if they deliver?
For Mom- Just wait, I'm also going to be blogging a segment on my favorite mom recipes. Had to do something to get the writing flowing and pizza was on the brain.
For Kelly- I usually try to impress people with my cooking rather than my pizza ordering skills, but next dinner will be pizza. Maybe I'll try that place mentioned in the other comments.
For Mitchell- I think I'm going to try your suggestion, after all it's coming from a BSG fan. :)
For Carla- Thanks!! Keep checking in, more to come.
My favorite -- Bella Via in Long Island city -- their 4 cheese (white) pizza is outrageous. i also hear good things about the arugula and prosciutto...
Graziella's on Vanderbilt between Dekalb and Willoughby has a great Arugula and Prosciutto pie. The little stand on Dekalb between Washington and Hall/St.James is ok, for standard NYC pizza. However, I work in downtown Brooklyn and I really love Fascati's (Henry St), My Little Pizzeria (Court St), and of course, the infamous Grimaldi's. Pizza is perhaps one of the all time greatest inventions.
Graziella's delivers but only till 6p I beleive
For making your own pizza some pizza places will sell you raw dough. A good dough makes all the difference in the world (it can even make up for sauce from a jar)!
I heard of a new brick oven pizzeria opening up soon on washington ave in Clinton..has anyone else heard this...I CANT WAIT...
When you can't get to Gratziella's go to her older brother Louie's on Myrtle. Same family.
Graziella's is unbelievably awesome. Look no further.
graziella's has one of the best pies i've had anywhere in new york.
Grimaldi's down by the Brooklyn Bridge is one of the best...also La Villa on 5th Avenue is delish. The brick oven pizzeria is supposed to open on Grand Ave off Clifton Pl which was formerly a bodega. It is located across from Dakar Restaurant and Still Hip childrens shop.Dont know if it will still happen as there was a problem with the venting or something.Just keeping my fingers crossed. That being said....I thought I was the only one to throw some sauce from a jar onto Boboli.I laughed so hard when I read that.I took 3 cheese and added oregano, basil, garlic, tad of sugar and pepperoni and extra mozarella cheese...it was umm umm good.
dude, you have a blog called CH Foodie and you admit to eating frozen pizza? Perhaps you don't understand what most folks mean by foodie.
il porto on washington is the best pizza in the hood hands down...sorry graziella ( my used to be fav) you guys have slacked of late..wont be getting me back..unless i can get free pizza for a year...and in that case i would prefer to pay for my pie at il porto...
